Do you have a favorite school lunch or lunchbox favorite? I think that we all have those favorite things that make the best memories of our school days.

Brown Bean Chowder
Tulsa Public Schools
Serves 12
1 lb. pinto beans
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 quarts of water
1 lb. coarse ground beef
1/2 medium onion (chopped)
1/2 garlic powder
1 2/3 cups tomato puree or diced tomatoes(I used 1 can of roasted diced tomatoes.)
1 tbsp chili powder
1tbsp salt
1/4 cup bread crumbs
