God’s time, or eternity, intersects linear time at only one instant: the present. The past is only in your mind and the future is only in your mind. The ego - our false sense of separate self - doesn’t want us to be fully present in any moment, because when we do so all sense of separation dissolves.
The past is only in your mind, and the future is only in your mind. The past is healed not by digging into the past but by fully inhabiting the present. And the future is programmed perfect in any moment that we inhabit the present perfectly.
What does it mean to show up perfectly in any moment? It means singular focus on the person, people, or circumstances you are involved in right then. It’s this thought: “May I only be here an instrument of love.”
Any moment in which we show up fully, bringing neither grievances from the past nor focus on what we want to have happen in the future, is a moment filled with miraculous possibilities. Many times in my life, both personally and professionally, I’ve had to look back on situations in my life where I missed out on possibilities for no other reason than that I wasn’t fully present at the time. I missed on something for no other reason than that in the deepest sense I wasn’t really there.
