The main thrust of the section covered in this video from "12 Rules for Life" is that life can be suffering, and you can either go the nihilistic path or not. Of course, it's not that simple in text, but that's the surface-level gist.

Peterson's main example of this is a Russian author who went through incredible hardships but helped to bring down the OG Bloc (according to Dr. P). There are also Biblical allusions aplenty.
