![Fyre Festival: Netflix vs. Hulu (2019)
Fyre Festival was a failed luxury music festival. As a result, the organizers are the subject of at least eight lawsuits, several seeking class action status, and one seeking more than $100 million in damages.
The event was promoted on Instagram by social media influencers including socialite and model Kendall Jenner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kendall_Jenner) , model Bella Hadid (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bella_Hadid) , model and actress Emily Ratajkowski (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Ratajkowski) , and other media personalities, many of whom did not initially disclose they had been paid to do so.[1] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyre_festival#cite_note-VICE-1) During the Fyre Festivals inaugural weekend, the event experienced problems related to security, food, accommodations, medical services and artist relations resulting in the festival being postponed indefinitely. Instead of the luxury villas and gourmet meals for which festival attendees paid thousands of dollars, they received prepackaged sandwiches and FEMA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Emergency_Management_Agency) tents as their accommodations.
Two documentaries about the events of the festival were released in 2019. Hulu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulu) released an original documentary, Fyre Fraud (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyre_Fraud) , on January 14, 2019. On January 18, Netflix (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netflix) released Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyre:_The_Greatest_Party_That_Never_Happened) .
