BC used to offer e-bike rebates of up to $1,400 through the CleanBC / Go Electric program, helping make e-bikes more affordable for regular people.
But the funding ran out, the waitlist is no longer the safety net people hoped for, and right now there is no clear restart date.
Thatâs frustrating, because BC keeps talking about active transportation, reducing car dependency, and getting more people out of vehicles. But when one of the most practical programs to help people actually buy an e-bike disappears, the message gets pretty mixed.
Yes, BC still has the PST exemption on e-bikes, and SCRAP-IT may help if youâre scrapping an old vehicle, but thatâs not the same as a simple point-of-sale rebate.
So I want to know, did the BC e-bike rebate affect your decision to buy, or not buy, an e-bike?
