Who is your inspiration and mentor? Imagine being able to sit down with them face to face and discuss your work. This became a reality for Ryan when we flew in Jan Scholz from Belgium to be a guest photographer on Film. This week, Ryan switches roles and becomes the student of Jan. With the gorgeous venue of the Azure Salon and gorgeous model Ashley Southern, Ryan watches as Jan creates some breathtaking images and discusses how Jan works.

Jennifer B Hudson is a fresh, young visual artist creating staged imagery that is both artistically stylized and meticulously crafted. Drawing inspirations from themes of feminism and social placement, faith, purity in trust, the testing of strength, and the study of personal relationships, Jennifer is a dynamic and emotional illustrator of the human heart. With an innate ability to plumb the antique, the work is soulful; seeking the use of the forgotten or discarded, mechanical in nature, eerie and quiet. With a classical music and orchestral background, she breathes life into her inventions with an air of subtly that only inspired thought and a delicate, intent hand can achieve. Raised in a spiritual and conservative home in rural Texas, Jennifer grew up an imaginative, curious, and experimental child who has used her upbringing in her intensely personal artwork to bring insight and awareness using heartfelt, acutely mapped personal experiences.
We were absolutely blown away by her wisdom and her quiet persona that partners with a loud and intense talent. Every photo is delicately made into a meaningful piece of art. And today, Jennifer shows us to not be afraid of taking photos in mid-day sun by demonstrating what she likes to call her studio in the woods.

Ian Ruhter is a photographer, and a good one at that. He had clients, big clients. And he was miserable. He wanted to find his own voice and create a camera that has never before been created. He had a passion and an idea and that idea became what is now known as the largest camera in the world. Ian and his team turned a big blue truck into the worlds biggest Wet-Plate Collodion camera.
Now, the three of them travel in a big blue truck/camera across the country to capture stories of American people.
