The Ministry of Health will award American physician Dr. Jyoti Somani the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) later this year for her contributions to Singapore's COVID-19 response.

Together with her team, they had the crucial role of ensuring patients and healthcare workers were safe from transmissions within the hospital. She also worked on setting up vaccine clinics for COVID-19 and helped with staff vaccination. Dr. Somani is an example of the strong US-SG friendship and people-to-people ties.

This Women's History Month and every day, we recognize the resilience and determination of women around the world who continue to break glass ceilings.
