BattleTech Warships: The Vincent Class Corvette
The Terran Hegemony learned the hard way that vigilance was never optional.
When the Capellans invaded Terra Firma in 2409, the Hegemony Armed Forces discovered their patrol fleet was outdated and vulnerable — and they swore never to be caught off guard again.
The result was the Vincent-class Corvette — a fast, powerful, and remarkably adaptable patrol vessel built by Delhi Ships. Introduced in 2432, the Vincent replaced the older Bonaventure and Vigilant corvettes, combining advanced detection systems, modular construction, and serious firepower in one hull.
Armed with four NAC/10 naval autocannons, two Barracuda missile launchers, and eight Thunderbolt large lasers, the Vincent could take on raiders, pirates, and even small WarShips. It carried six aerospace fighters, four small craft, and nearly 100,000 tons of cargo, making it an ideal long-range picket and patrol ship.
Powered by twin Howser 2G2 “Hot-fire” engines, the Vincent could maintain 2 Gs sustained thrust and push up to 3 Gs in bursts, giving it unmatched agility for its class. Over 500 Vincents served the Terran Hegemony and Star League Defense Force for more than three centuries, and the design would later be adopted — and upgraded — by the Clans as the Vincent Mark 42.
