BattleTech Warships: The Dreadnought Class Battleship
The Dreadnought-class battleship was the first true WarShip in the history of BattleTech – a vessel so influential that it became legend. Commissioned by Admiral James McKenna and launched in 2300, the TAS Dreadnought reshaped naval warfare, laying the foundation for the Terran Hegemony and, later, the Star League Defense Force.
At 890 meters long and 960,000 tons in mass, the Dreadnought was the largest human-built ship of its era. Armed with devastating broadside autocannons, a massive marine contingent, and the ability to carry dozens of shuttles, it embodied a new philosophy of space warfare. Its service life spanned over 300 years, from securing the Hegemony’s borders to its final, heroic sacrifice during the Amaris Coup in 2766.
