Hey you, get up! Because you're about to get drafted..INTO THE GREATEST BATTLEFIELD 2 VIETNAM MOD EVER MADE! so put on your uniform, grab your M16A1 and step into the dangerous jungles of Vietnam with this mod!
BF2 VIETNAM is being worked by Lone-wolf93 (the mod dev) to this day, which it vanished from the Moddb.com website in 2024 for no apparent reason and for a time it became lost media, UNTIL NOW.
Thanks to @YossarianAssyrian he handed me the Alpha version copy of the mod to check it out and see how was it going..
SO HOW'S IT GOING AS OF NOW? Lets check it out.
CONTENT: As of now the mod has 11 maps to choose (12 in CO-OP), i tried the 11 maps in the SINGLEPLAYER Mode and none of them had CTD's while loading or during long gameplay sessions, which indicates that the mod is stable. 1 POSITIVE POINT FOR OPTIMAL STABILITY!
GAMEPLAY: As for gameplay, IT IS SUPERB! A 10/10 In this department!
Inmersive, filled with action, brutal, tactical, fast paced, challenging and never gets old!
In this current version the arsenal of weapons here is excellent, filled with interesting details that inmerse you fully into the game, gunshots and voice overs here sound punchy, straight from Rising Storm 2 Vietnam, to give you the authentic oppresive Vietnam war experience!
PRESENTATION: The presentation is faithful to the original Battlefield Vietnam, the UI is similar to the 2004 game itself, giving you the illusion that its BF Vietnam inside the Refractor 2.0 engine, very well done and nostalgic.
AI itself is very challenging even on the easy difficulty, to the point of almost becoming infuriating as you will often get killed in either one shot, or they will always use grenades or RPG's to blow you up in every step of the way, therefore taking cover in corners and walls during every gunfight here is imperative!
Without a doubt, BATTLEFIELD 2 VIETNAM easily surpasses every other Vietnam mod for the game, EOD2, ATTACK VIETNAM and many others!
It trully succeeds in every aspect despite it being AN ALPHA BUILD, a testament to Lone-Wolf93's flawless work and skill. Hopefully he delivers the newest version of BF2 Vietnam soon to see it grow and become more known amongst us BF2 veterans and mod community members!
FINAL VEREDICT: EASILY A SOLID 10/10! GO GET IT!
