I didnt embrace any civilians, but I had enough XP from common enemies and quests, so in most fights Im only slightly underleveled. And with upgraded weapons you can still do a lot of damage.
There isnt that many weapons and vampire abilities, and I only used some of them in the video. Not all of them were useful for me.")

In Katana Zero any hit will kill you, but some of the bosses have checkpoints, where you can continue the fight after dying. The bosses themselves doesnt have much health and will go down very quickly if you know what to do, which is kinda unfortunate. The second form of a secret final boss has an amazing music, but I killed it before the best part starts playing.")

Weve got another fresh metroidvania. I really like this one - it kinda reminds me about NES castlevanias but with mechanics from older CV games. Theres even a character who uses whip-like weapon and throws axes - in case if you want to feel like Simon Belmont.
Though there is one thing which I dont like. This game has a fairly big map and most of the time you cant proceed without reaching some switch or finding an alternative way into the room. This whole tower is a big labyrinth. I see nothing wrong with that if its done in moderation, but if I have to find the right way every couple of rooms - it gets annoying real quick.")

Nightmare mode with no leveling up can be a tough challenge, but it gets easier as you progress. Earlier game is harder, since you dont have many options to increase your stats or use elements the bosses are weak to.
You cant level up, but you can still increase HP, Aura and Sand bars with potions and some enemies drop very good gear. And you can still increase the levels of your orbs, making them stronger.")

I did this without using EX weapons, but there are 2 parts where youre forced to use them. First one is in Ypsilon / The Creator 3 fight. When he uses his Seraphic Ruin skill, you have to destroy at least 1 orb with EX weapon, or else the attack will cover an entire screen. And in the first phase of the Mother fight, the only way to break her shield is to use an EX weapon. Even Copens skill gets absorbed by it.
Regarding this game, I dont like how they butchered Copens aerial movement. Now you can only do 1 dash in the air, if you dont have 1000 kudos, and theres no ground slam ability. I hope they bring it back in the future games.")

* I did use some passive image pulses, but all of them are insignificant and have no impact on the difficulty of the fights. The ones I used are: EXP boost and in some final fights - Kudos boost and set Kudos songs.
So, this is not quite that I expected from the 3rd Gunvolt game. I do like the new character and her gameplay, but its so weird that they decided to do a huge time skip and omit pretty much all of the previous characters. It was okay for the iX series, since it was a spin-off in an alternative universe. But why do that for the main series? Was the secret scene in GV2 with Xiao and Copens maid completely pointless? What even happend to Copen, Mytyl/Joule and the others? Guess they died of old age offscreen.
Well, maybe theyll make ASG 2.5 to tell us what happened in between these games. Or maybe Gunvolt and Moebius in the ending of this video are doing a time travel to the past or to some yet another alternative timeline. I dont how I would feel about that. I dont want these series to turn into another Kingdom Hearts...
But dont let these complaints make you think, that I dont like this game. I had a lot of fun. I also have nothing against the plot about the Primal Dragons, ATEMS and Moebius. I just dont like how little connection it has to the previous games.
BTW, there are also hard mode versions of these bosses, and some of them are viciously brutal. Some of them require you to do some serious acrobatic movements in the air. I kinda want to record it, but also kinda dont. It might depend on how well this video does.")
