Batman is one of the most iconic characters ever created…and yet for some reason I keep bouncing off a lot of Batman stories.
Which is weird because on paper I should absolutely LOVE Batman. I love darker characters like Spawn, Wolverine, Venom, etc. I love Batman’s villains. I even enjoy certain Batman stories and movies.
So why do I still struggle to really connect with the character?
While drawing this Batman sketch cover, I talk through my complicated relationship with the Dark Knight, the kinds of stories I actually enjoy, and why some dark stories feel exhilarating while others just feel exhausting.
Also…I’m still searching for MY Batman story.
