A video demonstrating how to interrupt or cancel the various takedown animations in Arkham Knight. Also compares the time savings between cancelling the animation to letting the takedown play out. These techniques are used a lot in speedruns.
How to interrupt animations:
*Before you start, bind a key to quick freeze grenade, quick flash grenade or quick caltrop. For this video, I bound these actions to R.
*Silent or minigunner takedowns (0:00): Press your quick gel, quick freeze grenade, quick flash grenade or quick caltrop button and then click and hold the right mouse button. Let go of right mouse button to end animation
*Ground take down (1:13): Same as silent takedowns, but this time you hold the crouch button the whole way through
*Harley Quinn's loud single/double takedown (2:22): Press your quick snare button and immediately press your left mouse then right mouse buttons.
*Nightwing's silent takedown (3:11): Making sure you are not aiming directly at your target, press your quick REC gun button. As soon as the electric bolt appears, click and hold your right mouse button. Release RMB to cancel animation
*Nightwing's double fear takedown (3:45): Making sure you are not aiming directly at your target, press your quick REC gun button. As soon as the electric bolt appears, press your LMB and RMB in quick succession.
