The Flying Birds block uses squares and half square triangles. Pam shows how to cut out the patches and assemble the block. She also shares a trick for removing stray threads from AccuQuilt dies. Keeping the colors in the correct spots and the triangles oriented in the correct directions is the hardest part of assembling this block, so setting the units out on a mat or putting them on a design wall is recommended. The Depression block uses quarter square triangles, squares on point, and half square triangles. It's essentially a square in a square in a square block with half square triangle corner units, and the four Depression blocks are made in four colorings.
