Bathu - this is the newest addition to sneaker culture in South Africa.
Owner Theo Baloyi used to sell perfume door to door before taking on the sneaker game. He worked in corporate for five years then walked away to start Bathu – a brand name taken from the township slang for footwear.
When these shoes catch your eye, it’s because of the hours Theo and Phulusho Ngomane invest in sneaker design.
The growing business now employs forty four people, supporting many families.
With hit designs, outlets and booming sales - anyone can see that Theo’s got game.
The takkies colourful design can’t be unrecognised and the new mesh edition enters stores right when summer kicks in.
