Cherry wood blank milled from a log, rounded, and a brass plumbing fitting for the ferrule. Fitting was 1/2-inch FNPT Pex adapter after threading onto the blank, I used my Wood Lathe Router Jig to clean up the hex sides and take the down to allow use of 7/8-inch wrench - I also turned off the Pex crimp end and drilled it out to fit the 1/4-inch bit holder. I also used the jig to run a core bit along the body to make the flutes. Drilled out the body to fit the bit and epoxied it and the ferrule in place. After final shaping and sanding the I cut it free and cleaned up the end with a foam sanding pad mounted in my lathe in a Jacob’s chuck. Sanded to 320 grit then polished with Ack’s Abrasive Sanding Paste and Ack’s Polish/Restoring Paste.
