View HD 2014 off ride footage of Kings Island's Bat suspended roller coaster. The Bat opened in 1993 under the name of "Top Gun" and was themed to the movie that shared its name. When Cedar Fair purchased Paramount Parks, they decided to rename the coaster to "Flight Deck" in order to remove all references from the Paramount movie. In 2014, the coaster received a new name yet again. This time, it was named "The Bat", paying homage to the original Bat suspended coaster that operated from 1981 to 1983. The current Bat roller coaster features a 78 foot height and a 70 foot drop with a length of 2352 feet.
