Additional tips and tricks:

When using the dpad to do tricks, tap it. This is much faster.

You can get full boost by knocking down another rider. This is a very easy way to get a fast start.

While I said edging isn't one of the four most important stats, it is definitely important on peaks 2 and 3. Consider prioritizing edging, especially if you're having issues taking turns.

Characters DO have minor differences, though they won't be a big deal for a normal playthrough. They have a slightly different hitbox, and their first four uber tricks which cannot be changed are different as well.

The game has platinum medals, you get these by beating a specified requirement in the final heat of an event. List: pastebin.com/fgrb6fiC

Toughness actually makes no difference past 4.0.

Seriously, combos are really important in freestyle events, especially on peak 3.
