Edit: This isn't fully accurate anymore. Freddy Mask's vocal chords were destroyed when he was springlocked so if this was 100% cannon to my AU then he can't even talk.
Why is it always the characters that are barely important in the series that I use the most.

The Freddy Mask and the Bonnie Mask bullies possess the shadows in my AU.
Edit: "Possess" isn't the right word. Basically I followed the theory I found in the theories section of the fnaf3 section in "The Freddy Files" where it said (as a theory) that the shadows were the ghosts of two springlocked employees, hence why in the fnaf3 minigames they appear to try and help the dead children as they wished that they could've stopped the murders. The shadows aren't physical animatronics so really you can't possess them. I would say that the shadows are pretty much a shadow of what happened in the past (the springlock incidents) and made up of agony. The theory sort of says that their ghost in general is the shadow. Like the springlock suit and their ghost merged together from agony to create the shadows.
