What does it take to complete a Basic Sniper Course? Caleb and Jude spent five days at the Brownells Big Springs Range attending High Threat Training Group's Basic Sniper Course, training alongside law enforcement officers under veteran instructor KP Robinson.
Throughout the course, students learn the core skills required to become a more capable sniper, including rifle setup, precision zeroing, data collection, positional shooting, target detection, wind calls, holdovers, dialing elevation, unknown-distance engagements, shooter and observer communication, malfunction drills, and qualification exercises.
While this class was conducted for law enforcement personnel, High Threat Training Group also offers a civilian Basic Sniper Course that teaches the same marksmanship fundamentals, long-range shooting techniques, and field skills without the law enforcement-specific legal and tactical curriculum.
