This video is a basic tutorial on how to make your own shaving soap, this recipe is for the intermediate and beyond soap maker. Join us as we overcome some pretty standard hurdles in the process of soap making!
Recipe:
12oz water
4oz Potassium Hydroxide (KOH)
1.6oz Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH)
12.8oz stearic acid (40%)
12.8oz tallow (40%)
6.4oz shea butter (20%)
3.2oz glycerin (add after cook)
0.6oz cedar wood essential oil (add after cook)
0.1oz patchouli essential oil (add after cook)
Always follow safety precautions when making soap. Gloves, eye protection and a respirator are essential. Always run your recipe through a soap calculator even if it comes from a reliable source.
