The Wildlands had always been contested territory. The dwarven presence on the surface was tentative, and the horse tribes of Jokalia were disunited. In 556, orcs and goblins raided the North simultaneously, fighting one another with the same bloodthirsty abandon they directed at the humans and dwarves. With so many Shashka tribes savaging one another and chasing the same prey, they quickly burned their hunting grounds and went home. Their wanton pillaging left the North in ruins for years after.
