In 1981, the baseball card hobby changed forever.
For the first time in over 25 years, Topps had legitimate competition as Fleer and Donruss entered the marketplace, giving collectors more choices than ever before. While everyone remembers the incredible rookie class of 1981 today, there was another phenomenon that captured collectors’ imaginations back then—error cards.
In this video, I take you back to my childhood and share the story of the legendary 1981 Fleer “C Nettles” error card.
