Kitten On The Keys, one member and MC of Cabaret New Burlesque (awarded in Cannes for the Mathieu Amalric movie Tournée) offers a splendid rendition of Peek a Book, a double entendre song originally recorded by Rose Murphy in the 30ies. Lada Redstar, crowned World Burlesque Queen in May 2012 in London is offering a modern but respectful cover of the surprise-buzzy song ZOU BISOU BISOU that Mad Men fanatics have discovered in this year opening episode of the famous TV Serie.

Both tracks come with a video. Kitten's video has been filmed by Eve Saint-Ramon helped by Bérénice Clerc and Gilles Roqueplo. Lada's song was filmed by the French DJ/Artist Sonikem on location at the Parisian Hotel PLATINE HOTEL dedicated to the fifties and Marylin Monroe.

About Kitten on The Keys
Suzanne Ramsey was born into a musical dysfunctional family- her Dad was a respected Big Band Leader and swing drummer and her mother was a highly sought after solo vocalist in church. Suzanne started playing piano and singing in church at a very young age but preferred to cut Sunday School to watch the Little Rascals and Shirley Temple movies from the 1930's instead. Instead of Debussy she played Bohemian Rhapsody at her sixth grade talent show. She never quite fit in at school and was always running away to see punk rock bands in San Francisco where she eventually moved to at 17. She struggled with many all girl groups in the early to mid 80's including Sugar Baby Doll with Courtney Love , Cat Bjelland, and Jennifer Finch.
Working in a gorgeous vintage clothing store run by flamboyant drag queens helped cull her love of the flapper and depression eras. She collected vintage sheet music to play on the piano. Her talent was noticed by society pianist Peter Mintum who introduced her to musical historians and sheet music collectors. Keeping the 20's alive became her passion! She chose the stagename "Kitten on the Keys" after a 1922 lively novelty ragtime tune by Zez Confrey from 1922. The song reminded her of thousands of cute little kitty paws crawling across her brain and keyboard!
She writes her own naughty ditties based on the double entendre technique of the Tin Pan Alley lyricists and remixes standards by Mae West, Ukulele Ike, and the Boswell Sisters.
She has several solo CD's out on iTUNES and CD BABY. She has played piano for Little Jimmy Scott, Dr Elmo, David J of Bauhaus, and many more!
Her burlesque career has won her many awards and she has traveled the world spreading mirth and merriment. She loves being the musical mistress of ceremonies for the acclaimed show Cabaret New Burlesque that was featured in Mathieu Amalric's award winning film Tournee. She did a solo show at the Alcazar club with Foxy Chrys and Eve St Ramon where she met DJ's Bart and Baker- finding two delightfully elegent gentlemen who collected music with such intense passion instantly turned Kitten and Bart and Baker into musical pals! We delight in sharing our rare unearthed treasures with eachother.
