I couldn’t imagine letting today pass without sharing this beautiful song. It’s one of those I’m afraid to touch because it’s so perfect and it’s been done masterfully over and over again. But I still wanted to add my little voice to the mix because the song deserves a closer look. // I always thought this was a strange lyric—why is the narrator belittling their lover? Then I learned that this song is Lorenz Hart looking in the mirror and speaking to himself. It’s the story of an individual facing his flaws and working hard to accept every imperfect inch even if the world wouldn’t.
