This is the story of an amazing racing engine developed by Ford in 1967 for the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans. Banned before the race, it was placed into service in a failed attempt to enter the Can-Am Series. One of the most forgotten and unique race engines developed during the Total Performance era of Ford, it was designed to keep their icy grip on the world's most prestigious sports car race, but instead it has all but disappeared into history.

What if this engine could live again, though? What if it will live again? The twin in-block camshafts, the odd three valve cylinder heads, all of the amazing 1960s tech packed into a modern rendition of the Calliope? It's happening.

The story of what could have been and what will be of the Ford Calliope is right here.
