Ed Smith has played at the highest standard of cricket for England, Cambridge University, Kent and Middlesex - where he captained the team to their first major trophy in fifteen years.
Although, this was not an end to his relationship with cricket, as the Director and Co-Founder of the Institute of Sports Humanities became a commentator for the BBC programme, Test Match Special in 2012 and has recently been appointed as the new National Selector for the England cricket team.
