During Operation Market Garden, Easy Company 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division used the Landgoed Schoonderlogt Estate in the village of Elst Netherlands as their command post. A famous photo of Major Dick Winters was taken in October 1944 while he was standing in front of the estate.
