Bambu Lab continues their disruption of the 3D printer market with the new A1 and AMS lite. Sharing components from both the A1 mini and more expensive X1/P1 series, the A1 aims to offer a smooth ‘just works; experience for a hugely competitive price. In this video, I conduct a detailed test to find what it does well and expose its weaknesses.
I would have liked the print quality, specifically the part cooling to be a little better, but even in this state, I feel this package offers an amazing all around experience. For comparison, the last printer I tested from a reputable brand had been out for months and still had significant issues and unfinished features. This 3D printer isn’t perfect but its smart features, ecosystem and support network remove many of the barriers to those new to 3D printing.
This printer was provided free of charge for the purpose of making this video. It was tested according to my review policy linked below. All opinions expressed are my own.

![Why you should enter a Printables design competition
Being able to design your own parts makes owning a 3D printer so much more rewarding. If you are looking for something to design to advance your skills, and perhaps would like to win some free filament, you should consider entering a design contest on Printables. This week I did just this, creating a modular toy car design, which pushed my design skills nicely.
In this video, Ill take you through my design process and give you tips on how you can maximise your success. I also provide instructions for those wanting to manufacture their own version of my toy car design.
Don’t worry about winning or losing, because the real victory comes from being willing to take on a challenge. These contests also have the added benefit of creating printable items that are clever solutions to everyday problems. I have chosen to make this video independently. ![Bambu Lab P1P - Your questions answered!
Bambu Lab had a good launch with their revolutionary X1 3D printer, and now they are launching a cheaper model, the P1P. Is it worth your time and money? To help address this, I asked the community what they wanted to know and structured this video to provide answers.
This printer has not been perfect but it has been very good. When I tested the X1, there were bugs I encountered in the firmware. As far as I am aware they were fixed for launch, so I hope the same happens here.

![BTT Panda Touch - Convenient and Powerful, but with potential future issues

The Bigtreetech Panda Touch is an add-on accessory for Bambu Lab printers, although it is best suited to the P1 series. With very fast installation and setup, you will add a Bambu Lab style UI as an alternative to the P1 series interface, as well as other features like portability thanks to an inbuilt battery. Perhaps most importantly, it offers control of print farms by allowing you to send commands and start print jobs on multiple machines at once.
In this video, we cover unboxing, installation, setup and functionality. All is currently well, but there are some other considerations you should include before purchasing.

Are you ready to take your 3D printer to a new dimension? In this video, I attempt to create a self assembling 3D print at home.
Despite this process differing from the original, it still took a lot of problem solving and lateral thinking to come up with a solution. This project forced me to advance my skills to another level.

![Designing STRONG parts: tips and tricks - 3D design for 3D printing pt5
To get the best out of 3D printing, it helps if you can design your own parts. In this tutorial series, we will learn to use a free 3D CAD program to do just that.
In this episode, we design a bracket and mount that needs to be quite strong. To achieve this, three parts are used instead of one, so they can each print with the strongest print orientation. They are joined using bolts into trapped nuts, as well as bolts that cut their own thread. We also cover design features and slicer tips for increased strength.
