The iconic 58-metre-tall Balmoral Clock sits atop The Balmoral hotel in central Edinburgh. Since its installation in 1902, the clock has been deliberately set three minutes fast. This was originally done to ensure travellers rushing to catch their trains at the neighbouring Waverley Station did not miss their departures.
