Oud by Mohab Attalah, violin by Alaa Edris, string ensemble by Akram Berrada, vocals & arrangement by Farya Faraji. This is a song that traditionally seems to be played from a region spanning from the north of the Arabian peninsula, the Levant, and also extending into Egypt. I wanted to arrange this one in a contemporary Arabic style of the modern traditional forms, therefore including a Western chord progression, as well as instruments like the violin and accordion, now widely used and deeply integrated into the music of at least many countries of the Arabic world.
