BalashToth Announces New EP "=Equation=" and Releases Second Single "n = Folly"
BalashToth, the solo project of former Casketgarden guitarist Balazs Toth, is set to unleash its new EP titled "=Equation=" on September 26th, 2024. This release features a fusion of old-school melodic death metal and thrash influences, drawing comparisons to legendary bands like At The Gates, Dimension Zero, and Carcass.
The concept behind "=Equation=" draws inspiration from the "anti-life equation," a powerful notion introduced by DC Comics that symbolizes a formula capable of stripping away one's free will. Each track on the EP delves into different facets of this concept, exploring themes that echo contemporary political struggles. From folk music-infused melodies to relentless death/thrash assaults, "=Equation=" promises a diverse and impactful musical journey.
Based in Ireland since 2012, Balazs Toth has meticulously honed his music production and mixing skills, guiding BalashToth’s musical direction with a dedicated DIY ethos. The project originated from Toth's guitar-focused YouTube channel, which evolved into a platform for original compositions after collaborating with the featured singer "Deathmetalvoicer" from Japan.
"=Equation=" follows the success of BalashToth's previous EP, "Anti-Life," released in Fall 2023. The EP garnered critical acclaim and was recognized among the Top 3 best Irish metal EPs of the year by Burning Metal IRL. Building on this momentum, the project released the single "Impossible Exercise" in early 2024, further cementing Toth's reputation for riff-driven metal excellence.
BalashToth's "=Equation=" EP will be self-released on September 26th, 2024, and will be available on CD format.
