A true example of community stewardship:
On Memorial Day, a large tree fell and blocked a road in a neighborhood outside of Bel Air. Neighbors called several county agencies that would normally handle clearing the tree, but they were closed for the holiday. Our Office is always open, so DFC Young, DFC Burns and DFC Kacher responded and determined that they couldn’t clear the tree without a chainsaw.
They called DFC Dickel, who was off duty but lives nearby and requested he bring his chainsaw to the scene. DFC Dickel was spending a leisurely afternoon by his pool with his family but soon was on scene, in his swim trunks, with a chainsaw. All four Deputies then cleared the tree and made the roadway passable. We thank the community resident that let us know about this event and we thank our deputies for going above and beyond for their community!
