These little rockets have a fuze-like mechanism that will cause them to detonate a short time after launch. Each has a pair of horizontal stabilizers mounted at right angles to the rocket thrust, which creates an extremely unstable aerodynamic system. The rocket travels in a relatively straight path at first, but then it suddenly turns due to the instability. The TNT detonates in response to the jarring motion. The debris thrown from the explosion includes the horizontal stabilizers and the still-active rockets, which have no aerodynamic stability on their own. The resulting fragmentation is a nice way of implementing anti-aircraft guns, which use rounds that explode midair in effort to increase the chance of striking a target.
As a demonstration, I show 3 strikes on King Pig's helicopter, each illustrating a different mechanism for damaging the helicopter: fragmentation impact, fuzed explosion, and direct impact.
The final clip shows a barrage of fuzed rockets that is reminiscent of fireworks.
