If the brake switch on your Silverado sticks on it'll cause issues with your cruse control, Stabilitrak/traction control, trailer breaks, and your break lights will stay on.
This is how I found out what was wrong.
I was going to put the part number but that would be only for my specific truck (and likely a few others). The best thing to do would go to an auto parts website, type in the info for your truck, and search for stoplight switch. Or, walk into someplace and ask for one.
Just for reference my truck is a 2010 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab LT V8 with a towing package.
