Calderwood Shop Day - 03 November 2022
David Roche from Percussion 1217 took time out of his schedule and traveled from PA to come help us out for three days. Dave is a fellow rope tension drum builder who makes custom drums and restores/refurbishes/repairs older drums.
Dave jumped right in sanding back shells for spraying, wet sanding, applying poly to shells and the Mahler box, finishing assembly of the 18 piccolo snares, eye splicing, roping drums, etc.
Bill pushed forward on the Turkish Crescents, powder coating, bearing edges, layout & drilling, snare gates, etc.
I milled and installed the Mahler Box trim, finished the brocade display, buffed shells, polished hardware, etc.

We were pretty confident that we'd have all the brocades done for PASIC and Bill had to finish a Crescent for an on site pickup, but the quantity of rope drums was always a "whatever we get done before Nov. 6th" situation and the prognosis was in perpetual decline. Thanks to Dave, I think we'll actually have every drum finished and in the booth.

I really enjoyed working along side of you, Dave. I look forward to future collaboration and can't wait to see your Tik Toc dance videos! Also, thanks for the sweet drum shell clock.
