I wanted to show off the application I found that completes my "Cost Effective Media Wrangling" series of articles for Streaming Media Producer.
This is where I use a $150 WinBook to do my media wrangling (limited DIT work) while on-site, shooting video for a client who wants to walk away with a copy of my footage. So I need to backup my cards to my HDD and the client's, and do it quickly because everyone's waiting.

This application runs beautifully on the powerful but inexpensive WinBook tablets I reviewed, and, more importantly, it's very "finger friendly" so that you can select your source and target drives with just a few taps of the screen.
Check out the video where I show how it works.
You also can request a demo from BackupChamp.com if you need to test the waters before buying.

But, best of all, I've worked out a discount code that I'm happy to pass on to anyone who wants to get a nice discount on this package- but it's a limited time offer so if this solution appeals to you, go to BackupChamp.com
Use the code: IEBA-BACKUPCHAMP (all caps)
And get $25 off a Solo or Duo license.
But the offer expires October 14th, 2015.

Oh, and I neglected to mention the OTHER half of the app that will take your RAW footage, your time lapse shots, your DNGs your sequential JPGs and autoMAGICALLY deliver beautiful ProRes, DNxHD, or Cineform videos for you. You can also pick a LUT to apply to your footage, compensate for ETTR, and a lot more. And it merges sound with the RAW video files. Can't get much better than that.
You'll probably want to do THAT processing on a powerful machine, so I recommend getting the Duo license so you have one on the tablet you keep with your camera gear, and another license on your big edit system and you never have to worry about it.
Best of luck and remember to Backup!
