This drill promotes good rotation through your body as you switch from a front crawl to a backstroke, and then back again to a front crawl. The two strokes are similar in many respects, and this switching action, from the legs through to the hips, will help improve your timing and coordination. It is also good for practising the rotation into a backstroke turn.
