Backrooms Liminality is a bodycam horror game that plunges you into endless liminal spaces where reality slowly begins to lose all meaning.
The story follows an ordinary employee of a mysterious company. During what seems like a normal workday, something goes wrong. Without warning, he noclips through reality and falls into a place that should not exist.
He wakes up surrounded by endless corridors, faded yellow walls, the constant hum of fluorescent lights, and empty rooms frozen somewhere between the familiar and the unknown. There are no windows. No clear way out. And worst of all, he is never completely sure that he is alone.
At first, his only goal is to find a way back. But the deeper he travels into the Backrooms, the more disturbing everything becomes. Abandoned offices turn into flooded rooms, empty parking structures, industrial tunnels, dark maintenance areas, and places that seem to completely break the laws of reality.
The game is experienced through a realistic body-worn camera, creating the feeling of recovered footage from someone who disappeared inside the Backrooms. Shaky movement, heavy breathing, digital distortion, limited visibility, and raw environmental audio make every step feel disturbingly real.
Backrooms Liminality does not rely only on jumpscares. Its horror comes from discomfort, isolation, uncertainty, and the constant feeling that something is watching you from just beyond your field of view. Sometimes you will hear footsteps behind you. Sometimes you will notice movement in the distance. Sometimes the lights will go out at the worst possible moment.
As the employee continues deeper into the Backrooms, he begins to encounter horrifying creatures, unexplained phenomena, and things that should not exist. Strange sounds echo through empty rooms, shadows move where nothing should be, and unknown entities begin to hunt him through the endless halls.
Every new area becomes more dangerous. Every step takes him further away from the normal world.
With only his body camera recording everything, he must survive the horrors of the Backrooms, uncover the secrets hidden inside them, and find a way to escape before something finds him first.
But the deeper he goes, the less human and familiar the world becomes.
And eventually, he may discover that falling into the Backrooms was not an accident.
In the Backrooms, silence does not mean safety.
