One of the top things to do in Homer is not actually in Homer, but across water: Kachemak Bay State Park! This was Alaska's first state park and is home to beautiful mountains, lakes, glaciers, forests, and rivers. The only way to get to it is by boat or plane, so we hopped on a water taxi in Homer (Kona's first ever boat ride!) and camped for the night at Grewingk Glacier Lake! It was an amazing trip, with icebergs floating outside of our tent, clearing skies, and a detour to a very unique and fun activity.
