BMTM Adventures tours in Alaska, backpacking with 12 women and 2 other guides in Alaska's Talkeetna mountains.
As part of my women's travel blog, I offer adventure tours around the world. For my second tour ever, we headed to Alaska for 8 full days of backpacking in the Alaskan backcountry. This meant no trails, no other people, guiding entirely by a map and compass, and carrying all of our own food and gear for the entirety of the trip.
Many of the women who came on the trip had never backpacked before, and we were about to head out on the adventure of a lifetime.
We saw moose, elk, so many sunny and gorgeous days, and thoroughly enjoyed the midnight sun.
Backpacking in Alaska isn't something you ever forget. It's challenging (with river crossings and bush whacking!) but it's SO worth it to get so far away from civilization that you never see another plane, car, person, power line, or manmade structure. We spent 8 days immersed in some of the most wild nature on planet Earth. Welcome to the Last Frontier!
