It took me a fair amount of time to craft this one. I don't know how I got the neon theme in my mind, but it looks pretty good to me. I also had to make Octavia, Lyra, Bon Bon and update Derpy and Vinyl to my best vectors I have. That took me a while as well, but it was so worth it!
This was one animation I have had in my mind for years, but always pushed away because I knew i was not good enough. I had a realization after "Equestria Divided: Last Stand" that I might be able to start making all the animations I considered to be a huge task. So I decided to give this one a shot!
"Pumpin' Iron" is an awesome song. One of my all-time favorites. Created by the crazy-talented Robot Boys. I highly suggest watching the video I linked above to see what I mean. I even wanted to learn how to move like they do, but that would take years of practice, so I'll stick with animating small colorful equines.
Something I wanted to get off my chest:
Quitting animating has been on my mind ever since I started. There was a couple of reasons for this: For one, I always have to compare my animations to others. I'm so proud of what I accomplished... Until I see the awesome animations that other great artists make. It's demoralizing seeing people make things I would never even get close to. I'm just too competitive I guess. Then that brings me to the second reason: No one is waiting to see what my next animation is. Who would even care if I just quit without saying a word? I've gone months without anything and no one seems to care. Every new animation I put out, I think: Why shouldn't I just quit? Only like 4 people would care, so why not?
There are three main reasons why I keep going after all this debate and time. First, I want to see my favorite songs put to ponies. I want to see the ideas that have been dancing in my head come to life. If I don't do it, I doubt anyone else will. This has been my foundation to keep going.
Second, I still manage to get more likes than dislikes. This was especially more important in the beginning than now, but it was a big reason why I didn't just quit years ago. Making pony videos, you usually expect 1/3 of your ratings to be dislikes, but I've been a little luckier on some videos. I used to get really depressed when I saw a dislike on one of my videos. I took it personally. But I have learned over the years that it is just part of being a creator. They have the right to dislike my videos and I have the right to not give a fuck about them.
Lastly, every once in a while, when I was on the verge of quitting, an awesome person would step up and give me the motivation to keep going. While most people just watch one video and move on, maybe leave a like or the rare comment, these guys left me comments on almost every video I made. I don't think people understand that little things like that can go so far for one person. I'm not saying I don't appreciate all the awesome comments that people leave, but these ones surly kept me from quitting.
⭐Blu3 Flare. My first real fan that I knew about and the first to comment on almost all my videos. I don't know if you're still into mlp, so don't think you have to stick abound just because I made your OC a background character in my videos. You gave me enough already. Thanks Blu3.
⭐YTMLP. The first person I knew to put one of my videos in a countdown. This was such a huge deal to me. I had maybe 300 subs, but this person treated me like I was one of the big guys. Even gave me a spotlight video that made me brim with pride. YTMLP gives all and deserves so much more. A true genius with words as well. /)
⭐Makenshi179. Makenshi noticed me after "What She Became" got semi-featured on Equestria Daily and preceded to blow up my notification email with all kinds of awesome comments on almost every video. This was so perfectly timed, because I was seriously considering deleting all my videos. A wonderful person into music and video games as much (or more) than me.
⭐WolfX1120. Wolf came the same time as Makenshi and also blew up my email with all kinds of cool comments. I see this guy on almost every video and I hope he understands how much it means to creators when he takes the time to leave comments on a video. I know he does this for a ton of people and probably takes a lot of time out of his day. Thanks for making me one of those people Wolf! /)
I wouldn't still be here without these people.
