Of course, Idaho has world-class skiing and world-class ski resorts, the first ski lift was even invented in Idaho after all, but no ski-lift, no problem! Strap on some skins and give back-country skiing a try. Skin up…ski down. It may take a little more effort, but isn’t it all about getting exercise anyway!

We hope this inspires you to get out there and enjoy the season. Idaho is avalanche country and we hope you enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly – make sure you have the right equipment, check conditions, and if you’re new to backcountry skiing consider hiring a guide to help get you started.
