Backblaze cloud storage platform delivers AI-era data management for media workflows at NAB 2026. Founded 19 years ago, Backblaze provides hot single-tier storage with pricing that eliminates surprise bills: customers pay a flat $0.006 per GB per month with free egress, no minimum storage duration, no minimum file size, and no gotchas. The B2 OverDrive product offers up to a terabyte of dedicated bandwidth for high-throughput use cases such as AI model training and CDN-free distribution, with customers running several hundred gigabits per second on dedicated lines. The B2 platform exposes a fully S3-compatible API, enabling existing Amazon S3 codebases to migrate by simply swapping the endpoint, supporting interoperability across AWS, Google Cloud, CoreOS, and Vultr. Backblaze has published its durability algorithm open-source, achieving 11 nines of durability equivalent to Amazon S3, with data replicated across U.S. West, U.S. East, Canada, and Amsterdam regions. For AI agent workflows, Backblaze released an Open Cloth skill allowing automated backup orchestration, intelligent on-prem to cloud data movement, and autonomous workflow triggers based on access patterns.
