When you're back to school shopping this year, don't forget to add a few of these safety/survival items. The world has changed, so school shopping has to change too! Here are 10 life-saving Items you need in your backpack NOW!
Accidents happen all the time and kids should be prepared. These are all lightweight items that won’t take up much room but could save your life or someone else's
This is our list, your list might need to be slightly different depending on where you live. But at least this is a start.

3. Water Purification: A LifeStraw or other type of water purification, even a bandana can help.

5. Signaling Device: You need visual and audible signals, so carry a whistle and some type of reflector.

7. Fire: We can’t have a lighter in school at our age but we can have a ferro rod, just make sure you practice using it safely.

9. Cordage: Some type of cordage, paracord or bankline comes in handy for a lot of things.

10. Container: A single wall water bottle, if it’s a single wall you can boil water in it. Since you usually have a water bottle anyways just don’t carry an insulated one!
