Back to School Scrapbook Layout | Creative Ideas Using What You Have!
Today we’re creating a two-page Back to School scrapbook layout with a little twist! Instead of starting with a traditional school-themed paper collection, I’m using fall patterned papers in small doses and combining them with cardstock, stamps, dies, punches and pieces from my stash to create a completely custom school layout.
One of my favorite parts of this scrapbook layout is the handmade backpack embellishment. There wasn’t a backpack die involved! I challenged myself to look at the shapes and supplies I already had differently and build my own backpack using unrelated dies and punched pieces. It’s such a fun reminder that our crafting supplies can do so much more than what they were originally designed to do.
We’ll also play with several distressing techniques to add texture, dimension and definition to the layout and help all of those individual pieces come together.
