Granite School District has the largest population of refugee students in Utah, speaking over 100 languages.

Utah Refugee Connection distributed 2,000 back packs filled with school supplies — paper, pencils, pens, a binder and a notebook — to refugee students during a special Back-to-School Night at in Granite School District this summer. The event also included free food, games and resources for refugee families.

This Deseret News video showcases how the community reached out to serve and help. “It’s been a beautiful outpouring of generosity,” said Amy Dott Harmer, the executive director of Utah Refugee Connection.
