Welcome back to my Back to Basics series! In today's junk journal tutorial, we're finishing the collage journal cover we started in Part 1 and creating the focal point that brings the entire design together.
For this project, I'm using stamped images, Tim Holtz butterfly stamps, vintage-inspired collage elements, and simple design principles to create a cohesive journal cover. We'll talk about why focal points matter, how stamped images can become the centerpiece of a journal cover, and why odd numbers often create more visually pleasing designs.
If you're new to junk journaling or collage, this is a great beginner-friendly project. One of the things I love most about collage is that there are no strict rules. It's all about combining papers, textures, colors, stamps, and ephemera in a way that reflects your own creative style.
