📂 Back to Basics: 5 Ways to Use File Folders in Junk Journals
Today I’m getting back to basics and creating with simple file folders! In this junk journal video, I’m sharing several easy and beautiful ways to turn ordinary file folders into useful journal pieces, ephemera, pockets, tags, and inserts.
I’ve been working with limited supplies lately, so this video is all about using what you have, getting creative with everyday materials, and remembering that beautiful journals don’t have to begin with expensive supplies. File folders are sturdy, easy to find, and perfect for junk journal projects.
In this video, I’m creating:
✨ A collaged file folder journal cover
✨ File folder tags with coffee dyed paper
✨ Tri-fold journal inserts with pockets
✨ Faux postcards for journal ephemera
✨ Tuck spots using file folder tabs
✨ Floating pockets for junk journals
I’ll be using simple supplies like Mod Podge, vintage sewing pattern paper, vintage book pages, music paper, digital prints, stamps, stickers, coffee dyed paper, fabric scraps, and stitching to give these file folder projects a vintage, layered, handmade look.
