This is the current world record on "Elements Racing #1", a track built by user "Matisterik" which was chosen as the Track of the Day the 13th of August 2020.
Players have 24 hours to set the fastest time on this track with leaderboards opening and ending at 7PM CEST every day.
Back at it with another WR on the "Track of the Day" series! Unexpectedly, I was able to keep everyone behind on this rather short track with some road, dirt and ice bits.
Starting off with a slow precision start, we transition into a dirt part where you need to minimize steering, avoid bumps as much as possible and generate as much speed as possible by speedsliding whilst keeping your gear under control. In ideal conditions, you do want to shift into 5th gear just before the drop down into the road slope, however that is a really difficult technique which works only ever so often. In this run though, I was able to nail it down, allowing me to drive one of my fastest start sectors so far.
The part which makes or breaks your run is the ice part and the upcoming drift. Instead of using the ice to naturally let your car slide around the wide left hander, a very specific and precise technique is coming in handy. You want to use the ice bump to send your right back tire into the air. Why? Because wheels unfreeze faster when in the air. Since the left drift puts most pressure on the back right tire and that one ends up being the grippiest one thanks to the bump technique, your car will grip around the corner a lot better with much more speed. It took me some time to understand and optimize the setup, but after some attempts it wasn't too big of a problem anymore.
The last drift is quite tight as the apex is blind and the corner is tightening. Ideally, you want somewhat of a center approach into the corner, not too wide and not too tight. Too wide of a drift will generate too much speed and sends you into the start block banner, too tight of a drift loses too much speed over the long stretch. Your goal is to find the perfect middle ground.
I am pleasantly surprised by this run myself as I didn't spend too much time on it - the start was solid, dirt part was incredible, ice was good and the last drift was good enough too. I lifted the acceleration very very shortly during at the exit of the last ice drift and in the final corner, probably unnecessarily but for safety reasons. Didn't lose me a substantial amount of time though.
GG!

![[WR] TrackMania² Stadium C15 | 1:34.075 by riolu!
This is my personal best time and current world record at the time of upload on Stadium C15.
Former WR: 1:34.154 by CarlJr (+0.079)
Multilap meister is back with another record that was surprisingly easy to get close to after a little bit of effort in practicing.
Never hunted this map in the past and had like 1.000 SP on it before I started giving it a shot and ended up making swift progress with big leaps into the worldwide top10, and then later with this WR.
Its quite a fun track despite mistakes being mostly very punishing since this is a very momentum-based track. Not much to explain here to be fair, the wallride needs to be as low as possible, turns need to be precise and close to the walls at maximum speed. The right hander after the wall is really difficult to hit since it requires a short release at the perfect timing, depending on where and how you enter the corner. Exit speed is really important here for the upcoming turn combination. The wallbang is best when you hit it as late as possible, an early wallbang makes you shift down a gear and kills your momentum.
Around the multilap section, the final drift needs to be driven with exit speed in mind as well. You need the speed to make the upcoming drop smooth-ish, otherwise youll lack the speed over the entire long platform part up until the next drift.
Glad I was able to clock in 3 solid laps here after a bunch of really dumb chokes, however theres still room for at least 0.20 of time gains (probably even more) with my current pace.
